Have managed to get tickets for both Saturday and Sunday and will be driving up from Amersham on both days. Just wondered if there is any advice on driving, route and timing wise, and parking, convenience and cost wise. As you can tell 1st timer on this so will appreciate guidance. Thanks in advance.

Choose a conservative arrival time, then aim 2 hours earlier.

You can usually buy a parking permit when you get your tickets or seperately if you havn't already got one and can park on one of the many fields for parking. They were around £10 last time I went,If you dont have one you will struggle.

Thanks - plan to get sorted before we go as we have to collect tickets there on the day. Yes, have warned visiting friend from abroad that we may take time getting to and from.

I did the M40 park and ride last year. Parked on Hinton Airfield and got bussed in. Was pretty easy, but did take a while.
Doubt you'll be able to park anywhere at the circuit, and i think you need to prebook...

I always used to camp over the night before. Gates open at 6am so its really the best way.

I remember it taking over an hour to get out of the car park when I went several years ago.

Buy an in-field permit off eBay. Rock up 1hr before race starts, saunter to seats, fall asleep after 20 laps.

Add an hour for picking up tickets too. I rocked up an hour before free practice and although I was buying a ticket instead of picking up, the line moved just as slow. It probably won't take you an hour but best to be safe.

Also for anybody skint who wants to go, free practice gives you the most F1 time, free parking, sit anywhere, all for £60. Pack some sandwiches and job done.

Indeed! You see all the different cars at the track, can sit in almost any grandstand, and get free reign to wander. smile
