Loss-making car brands?
Discussion
I might be missing something here, but I'm always hearing about how GM Europe lose a s
t load of money:
2010 fourth quarter losses £360 million
2011 fourth quarter losses £180 million
Why don't they just stop making cars? I don't get it. If there was something that cost me money every time I did it, I sure as hell wouldn't keep doing it.
Don't Ford also make a loss?

That's less than the cost of design to manufacture of a new car...

Essentially because it would cost them a shed load more than that to wind the company up, redundancy payments, contract obligations, liabilities etc...
