Any ideas please, the car (Mk5 Golf ED30) is great except for this. I know higher profile tyres would help but want something simple and less costly than replacing the tyres. Ear plugs only go so far towards helping reduce the drone on motorways..

Under solutions marked 'creative' I've been looking at adapting components of air ride systems for a switchable comfort setting by adding something near the top mount. Not being a suspension expert though this is all a bit random.

Swap the wheels and tyres together - if you've got optional large alloys and low profile tyres some mug will probably pay you to take his standard ones away.
