The whole report is financially misleading. He keeps quoting £50k for an XF Diesel S. They don't cost anywhere near that. The test one is a Portfolio model, the ordinary diesel S luxury has all the same mechanics and most of the kit for less than £42k and most buyers actually pay £37 to 38k if they have a clue.
The dampers might be a bit ropey when cold but with a 5 series you have to add a grand for the variable damping or they're ropey hot or cold.
