i was driving home today and tapped my side view mirror on the corner of the bus.
no damage on my car, and a tiny bit of paint on the bus fell of but nothing serious at all, no dents. just a little knock.

but the bus driver took my details, im third driver on the car and my dads nine years no claims is on it with no protection :/!!!!

if they make a claim over a tiny bit of paint would my dad lose his 9 YEARS NO CLAIMS! Im quite worried, could i sort out a payment with the bus company without getting insurance involved. it is literally a little chip of paint that fell of. the whole of the bus had bits of paint missing, its unrecognizable really.

Id hate for the 9 years to be wasted on a small bit of paint.

what can I do to make sure all is well?

stupid question but yeaahhh..

He will lose a couple of years, not all of it.

In most cases the bus company won't bother if its as minor you say. They want as little to do with insurance as possible, but the driver will have been obliged to get your details and report back to base so he/she doesn't get into trouble.

I'd forget it until you hear from either the bus company or your insurance company.

Hmmmm, please check your small print as most insurers will want you to report the incident within so many days - forewarned is forearmed as they say.

Were you coming home from work? if so do you as a named driver have commuting, is it your car insured under your dad's name?

forgot to add, which part of the county were you when this happened?
Remember passengers on the bus (If any) can put in a claim for injuries physio etc so you offering a couple of pounds to the bus company may not be sufficient to cover thetotal cost of the claim!
