Loads of cars have had pretty much that same roof though. Mk3 Golf, Audi cabriolet, escorts, etc, etc Loads of them

Aha, I get it. you're taking the soft top in isolation? Sorry I thought it was the whole package (car & roof) in which case fair point, I rescind the post.

Yep that was what I meant. That particular design of roof seems to have been quite successful at the time smile

I was thinking that had to be a kit car body like the MR2 jobs, I only remembered the 550/575 having the flip top head solid roof SuperAmerica model. But no, this is a 550 Barchetta, that is a 'temporary roof' though, not meant for the full speed of the car, and it's that shape to cover the roll hoops.
