A thread for reasonably priced cars. it really don't matter if its a hatchback or hypercar, as long as the price is reasonable
Reasonable for what? £200,000 for a sorted race car might be a bargain, while £2000 for a clapped out scrapped evidently isn't.
Alfa Romeo 147,156?
Quite a bit of car for the money, can pick one up for under a grand or couple of grand. I found that reliability is an issue though, I've owned two 147's and both had the same problems. Nothing major and neither ever broke down but the electrical niggles and various of other bits like wobbly gearstick or creaking clutch can send you over the edge.
Look good and the cabin has an excellent design, makes you wonder why they're so cheap, especially when something like a Golf doesn't even come with cruise control. (or at least not many did)
Expensive to run though for what they are, tax is around £260 I think and best economy I saw was 34mph driving like a granny, averaged around 30mph.
If it wasn't for the expensive services and parts I could be tempted by a diesel.

I know. Let's start a thread where the OP is immediately rubbished and his/her suggestion for something to chat about is roundly condemned, rather than just responding in the spirit of the title, from which we all knew what he/she actually meant really, but it wasn't as much "fun" as being terribly big and clever.

Quite. It's always the ones who aren't that bright condemning it to. #Same5hitDifferentDay
Anyway, the OP appears to want to start a thread where we can put the cars that we spot in the classifieds which seem like a scorching deal, rather like this fine chunk of V8 pork, a fellow PHer spotted on eBay earlier

Using the # symbol for no reason whatsoever
Claiming others 'aren't that bright' and failing to use a three letter word correctly. Whilst everyone knows it's a typo, best to check before making comment on the intelligence of others.
Back on topic, I would nominate-

Not everyones idea of a bargain, but surely won't get much cheaper and potentially will appreciate?
In any case

Slightly strange first post, but still...
My neighbour likes his cars and bikes - does a 60 mile round trip to work and back. He was using an old Merc S class of 1980's vintage - great barge, but knackered, unreliable and thirsty for such a commute.
He buckled one day, and went out to buy the best brand new car he could for his budget, that would be cheap to run, (hopefully) reliable, and with a decent, 'million-year' type warranty.
He came home with a brand new Hyundai i10 - at the time the scrappage scheme was going, so with the 2 grand knocked off from trading in his old Merc, he paid about £5,500 for it.
Came with a 7 year warranty.
Two years down the line, it still does exactly what he wanted - starts on the button every morning, nothing's broken, failed or let him down, is cheap to run, and surprisingly entertaining to drive - pretty zippy with go-kart handling. I quite liked it after a drive, but don't tell anyone else on here
So I'd suggest that would be a great reasonably priced car?
