As per title, do I need to just complete & send off the yellow slip (section 9)...or do I also need to do sign the green section 8?

Yellow slip is only signed and sent off if the car is going to a motor trader. Just sign in the usual place as the registered keeper, bottom left. Give the new keeper the green 'new keeper supplement' slip and you send of the complete left hand page, complete with all his/her details and signature.
