Very sad news about a vehicle crash and fatality at Millbrook yesterday. Information seems to be a bit scarce on the subject though. Anyone know what happened?

Bugger that's not good news, we spend a fair bit of time over there and you can see how accidents could easily happen.

heard of this on the radio today, seemed odd to have 4 passengers in the car at Millrook would normal testing include a fully loaded car?

Most "durability" testing of fully loaded cars is done with "waterkins" which are waterfilled plastic dummies that simulate occupant weight without requiring real occupants. However a lot of other testing is done with 2 and sometimes 4 people in the car depending oh what the purpose of the test is.

Also alot of the driving is not necessarily Millbrook's own (Vauxhalls) work, as the facilites are rented out to 3rd parties. This suggests it was some form of vehicle or drive appraisal / demonstration.

They could have been doing anything, theres little point in speculating, I've been 5up in a car at Vmax in the bowl and up over the hill route doing various different tests recently..

A great place to go and do some work, a real tragedy this has happened. frown

Sad news. He used to live round the corner from my brother, recall stopping to look at his Skyline. Thoughts are with his family.
