Am I alone in my hatred for the feckin Skoda Citi Up little hatchback thingy if thats what its called?

It seems to be an advert for a phone/stereo/laptop that just happens to be car shaped, I know this is the way of the future and soon we'll all be transported around in driverless Ipods but it makes me sad.

The worse thing apart from the blonde birds stty warblings and the advert being on all the ruddy time is that its probably quite a good little car like most Skodas but that bit doesnt get a look in!

Just to note this is not a rant just a statement oppinion.

You're not alone. A real shame, 'cause they're basically ruining a perfectly good car. On all accounts, the new Up! CityGo and Mii are class leaders. Why they have to cutsy it all up with Anastasia, I really don't know.

Could be worse. Those bloody ford adverts that go on about the "ford standard" - What, you mean the stuff that other manufactures have had on there cars as standard for years?

Or the kia c'eed advert where they repeat the "ever fallen in love" bit over and over. I used to like that song. Now I f**kin hate it!

Because that's how it's pronounced in Czech?

Damn those people with their foreign languages, eh?

Welsh place names probably make your head catch fire, don't they?

its A car thats aimed at city drivers, you dont have fun in the city, you listen to music and try not to have a crash while talking to friends, therefore the ad is perfect, no one ever complained about car ads bombing though the welsh mountains

I think the advert is fine. It advertises the features that those who buy a citigo will be looking for, its a city car and will not be bought by those looking for a performance car. Its for getting from a-b making the daily commute more bearable for people who just want to get home, not those looking to string together a good set of bends. I think its pitched perfectly at its intended market.

There's a Post Of The Year 2012 in there! smile

Clearly the OP and I - and a few others? - aren't in "the intended market" . Your insight is, seriously smile , reassuring. Please can you bottle it, so I can take measured doses and stop throwing stuff at the TV in Ad Breaks? hehe

The 'mute' button control will do for now - but the 'joke' regards internet dating is seriously old hat... I know I'm a luddite, but I met my wife ont' interweb thingie (and there were several false starts that - comparatively - make even the usual 'suspects' on here look positively sane and ordinary - I am sure it would make an interesting thread!). Ooh, ha ha, people misdescribing themselves on the internet - no, never seen or heard of that before! rolleyes And as for the chap in the suit muttering "Let's meet [whatever name]!" enthusiastically with a bit censored-eating grin...

I clearly am not an intended punter hehe .

GenePoolReject13, this is NOT in any way an attack on you smile ; you DO make a valid point about meeting the intended market, which I'd not picked up on before your post smile .

Not the case at all, just wondering why after years of adverts on T.V refering to them as Skoda they have now decided to use the Czech pronunciation when German would probably be far more suitable. biggrin
