£40,000 buys a lot of car. You need to narrow the field with needs preferences etc. Plus it is very subjective! Eye of the beholder and all that !

They are a lot of car for 40k but the market seems to put a string preference on the 4.7 so these will probably continue to depreciate quickly, I personally would prefer a Gransport at <25k

Of the new cars to come out recently I think the new M135i looks great value

Of the used cars an 09 Jag XKR at about 35k looks stunning value
