More an idle thought. If I were to replace my 2.3 prtol Tubo Mazda CX 7 with a second hand supercharged FF Range Rover, would I be mad.

The high tax is not an issue, as I already pay that.

The car would more or less only be used for a several times a minth 260 mile trip to Scotland, and for bad weather.

The routewould be A69 to Carlisle, or the military Rd. M6 then A75 to Castle Douglas.

I like a bit of poke for overtaking trucks and the like.

Also I would love to own a V8 petrol.

Thinking about cars from 2005 onwards, £25000 or under.

Is it an utterly stupid ruinous idea?

If you want one and can afford to run it get one. Mpg on ours has actually improved from the long term average of 12.7 it was showing when it was picked up.

I'm now wondering if you can get these engines LPG'd...

Yes you can get them LPG'ed, petrol Range Rovers are reasonably common for conversions. I saw some pictures of a converted one recently, looked very well done.

Oh I had been told you couldn't LPG convert them.

That puts a different perspective on it.

Cheers.
