DRIVE EXCLUSIVE: With only six examples built to date, the Hennessey Venom GT could be considered the fastest street car in the world.

Built off the Lotus Exige, this tuner car packs a 1200+ horsepower punch with a theoretical top speed of 272mph.

Host Matt Farah takes a quick ride in the million dollar Texas built supercar for the Season 3 premiere of TUNED on DRIVE.

I really like that but it is crazy money... What does an Elise GT1 cost, if you can find one?

If I had $25M to spend on cars... Definitely. If I had $1M to spend on a car/ cars - no way!

These Drive videos are great and I think that Matt chap is a great presenter.

Does "theoretical top speed" mean "It doesn't actually go this fast"?
Based on gearing and rev-limit, probably.

Doubt the tyres would handle the speed, though.

well, half right (as in the guy inside appears to be a spastic)

as for the quick bit, somewhat hard to tell as all he did was ponce up and down a small road...

It means they don't trust their engineering enough to actually test it.

stability would be one of the lesser concerns I would have....

I would be more worried about it staying together...

Panel fit/gaps/etc. take on a whole new meaning at high speeds

He really is a sad and angry man.

I actually thought he'd been banned from here, wasn't he mouthing off at a lot of people when he binned his car into a Porsche?
oh do grow up....

and (for the record) he did not bin it, the Porsche did and was charged as such)

lol, does someone disagree with the Venom GT?? I bet you were one of those slating it whilst it was being developed weren't you.

Great to see it out on the road and the presenter, I enjoy his reviews. His enthusiasm is fantastic and judging by his rather large following many don't see him that way.

The car is owned by Steve Tyler from Aerosmith.

Good of him to let someone borrow it full stop as its a $1M car.
