I have found myself turning at junctions and on roundabouts without using my indicators.

I am furious with myself, I don't know why this phenomenon has come from. I am disgusted.

More to the point I have never owned or even like BMW's!

Without wishing to debate this AGAIN, I'd say I am a BMW driver and I only indicate where I feel it necessary, i.e. if there are no other cars around, I won't indicate.

Don't think I've ever had to replace an indicator bulb! biggrin

I hope you mean "other road users" not "other cars" - indicators are extremely useful for bikers, pedestrians, cyclists, etc. too.

yes

Isn't that what IAM say you should do? Look around to see if you can indicate for everyone - leads to increased awareness without even realising.

In a strange quirk of fate, I own a BMW and I always indicate at junctions and roundabouts. Go figure.

Nothing grinds my gears more than stopping to give way only to find they've turned off without warning.

It is what the IAM suggest, but to my mind it's the wrong way 'round. It always seemed more sensible to me to look around to work out whether there is anyone who could potentially be confused by indication, and indicate if there is not. I know I make mistakes, and in my experience it is, on average, safer to indicate than to not indicate.

They're okay. Don't really light my fire though.
