Diesel economy is s
t. (I'm talking sub 25mpg)
Pretty comfy car to be in, I like the looks and was fairly solid.
Get the petrol, pre-LPG'ed if possible.
Even the diesel can get the arse out on a wet day. 4x4 is useful for finding "alternative" routes out of car parks. Don't leave it on all the time though, just for slippery surfaces.
Mine had the front brake cook itself, thick black smoke and everything. Fuel tank leaked (which I admit didn't really help the MPG). Gearbox had just the wrong ratios for pottering about in the Yorkshire dales with that engine. 40mph was right at the top of 3rd and the bottom of 4th so you were always changing up/down.
LPG 4-litre, possibly with an autobox would be a great car. I just had a really crap example.
