I like to think I am quite an observant person and a bit of a people watcher and whenever I go to my car for a ciggie (work car park) or sometimes on lunch to listen to the radio I always see women with a hand in the air holding a key looking very confused and turning around and around.

Sometimes they walk the length and width of the parking area, about 200m x 100m, back and forth and then sometimes crossways.

I mean seriously, how hard is it to remember where you parked your car (more or less)??? :-)

I always remember where I park my car - apart from....

I was sent to Poland on business for 3 weeks a year or two back. I parked in a long-stay car park at the airport. Of course, being 'a man' I didn't bother to write down the section number of the car park, as I was sure I'd find it easily when I got ack - after all, it's only women who forget where they park, right?!

Upon my return, after about 45 minutes, I was so convinced that my car wasn't where I'd left it, and it had been stolen, I went to the Car Park operators portakabin to report the theft.

Of course, me and two of the car park guys found it quite quickly after paperbag

The only time I've ever had a problem was in Milton Keynes...but that was more because of getting lost in the stupid shopping centre as oppose to actually forgetting where I parked!

This, among many other things, baffles me about women. I've put it down to just not thinking when they do things.

They just don't focus on the task in hand, so it doesn't go into their memory. Most likely that when they walk away from the car they're texting/applying makeup/talking/whatever, so they don't remember. Whereas a bloke will invariably get out, look around to make a mental note of where they are, then proceed.

It's the same around the house. How many men lose things in plain sight? Not many, i'd wager. But women do it all the sodding time.

All down to just not focusing on what they're doing.

Do we really need yet another "OMG women are so bad at driving/parking/putting the handbrake on/washing the car" thread? It's getting a bit tired now, guys.

An ex-girlfriend of mine called the Police out when she couldn't find her car in the car park where she left it and assumed it had been stolen.

She then called her Mother while she was waiting on the rozzers to tell her the bad news and her Mother replied, "Such a shame after you spent all that money on it getting resprayed last week too!!"

Said she was prtty much standing next to it at the time!!

Seems to be a lot of anti women threads on here lately. I have come to the conclusion that the men on PH are not getting laid regularly.

I've done it once. I went to Florida and parked my hire car at a mall, a Lincoln Towncar which is so big, it could probably be picked up on satellite.

Being a bloke, I looked at the shop I was next to, a Sears and thought that wuold be enough for me to get back to it later. I went to Sears and walked up and down the car park for 10 minutes thinking it had been stolen. A quick visit to the customer services and I was told there were two Sears department stores at this mall. Cue lots of English style apoligies and some Americans feeling superior. :-(

I lost my car once. Spent ages looking for a space in Tesco's car park so when I finally found one, I didn't pay a lot of attention to where it was. When I came out, I exited through a different entrance and didn't realise that they've actually got two car parks, one in front of the store and one behind the store. After what felt like half an hour (ok, probably 10 mins) of looking in the wrong car park I walked back through Tesco and found the car park I'd parked in.

It doesn't help that I was looking for a silver Focus. I think I looked at every silver Focus in the car park before finding mine.

Me too. If the kids can't find something they're asked if they've looked properly, or just a "daddy look" redface

OP: This is a good sign. Blokes probably do the "wandering around with key in the air and confused expression" just as often as women, but you aren't looking at the blokes.

You're basically a perv. Well done.

I have no issue finding where I've left it, although I'm an arse for never checking the floor I'm on when in multi stories, so spend my time popping my head in and out of different floors like a knob.

Also walked straight past my car in the Asda car park last night but I was busy on the phone justifying to my brother why I'd bought a 15 year old battered Ford Galaxy that I found for £600 notes...
