Morning,

Need to sell my 96' BMW 328i Coupe. The car is SORNED and there is a issue with the starter motor, so it will not start under its own power. I do not have the time to source/fit a starter motor. So do I sell the car as a non runner or as parts? The car is fitted with some desirable performance extra's! If I go down the route of stripping for parts would it be a struggle to find a breaker that would just take the chassis? Just looking for opinions here based on peoples past experiences, this is not intended as a for sale thread.

Best.

If you don't have time to source a starter motor, how are you going to find time to break it. Unless you intend to allow a procession of people to your door to remove the bits they want.

I would suggest making time to fit the starter motor and sell it as a runner.

^^^^ This. Get it fixed, MOT'd and sell it. Make sure you've got a letter confirming appointment for a pre-booked MOT and get the same garage to fix the starter. You might make sure the MOT is done first to make sure there isn't a long list of expensive problems!
