Remind me which estate cars have 7 seats (Is it only Merc and Volvo?) and their model numbers? Want to avoid people carriers, but do need to have more than 5 seats now and again...

Some Peugeot 406's had a 7 seat option, but not sure if it was an "option" or came as standard on a particular model.

The Merc W124 had a seven seat option, but the rear seats face backwards. :/

Not sure about the Volvo's.

The V70 (2000-2007) had a 7 seat option. A 5 seater can also be retro-fitted with a conversion kit, to 7 seats too.

The W211 (2002-2009) E-class had a 7 seat option as well, also rear facing. They fold away into the boot floor when not needed.

Doesn't the XC90 have a 7 seat option?

The XC90 is a 7 seater as standard.

Just bought one and love it.

Its a big old thing but nice to drive with good space inside. Very good seats, as all Volvo's have and well equipped.

It's pretty expensive to run though, top rate tax, 30mpg (35ish on a run) and tyres at £150 per corner.

If you only need occasional 7 seats then the V70, E class or even the Toyota Verso may be a better option.
The Outlander has a 3rd row also but they are pretty small.

Whats the budget?
