Was it not the Pinto that Ford decided that it would be cheaper to pay the compensation than to recall them due to the dangerous fuel tank location? So probably safer than a standard one.laugh

Seriously,what is the American equivalent of our MOT?

In Texas an 'Inspection' by the D.O.T.

Many people don't bother with them.

Not seen one that bad. Though my Cortina-Lotus would have been close if it hadnt been covered in filler and Halfords spray paint..

It looks like this time the A-Team had fk-all in the shed... smile

There isn't an MOT as far as I know.. I think certain states require an emissions test and that's about it?

Ah, but if you provide a bill for tuning work the car is then exempt for emissions controls idea

As I stated prior to your post you're required to have a vehicle 'Inspection' which is carried out in Texas by the Department of Transport.
