Aren't those the things you are supposed to use when dismantling suspension?

Oh.

I thought they were spring compressors to remove the coil springs from a car.

Is he suggesting you actually drive around with these things compressing the suspension whilst underway? yikes

Never underestimate the stupidity of the the public, and they seem to be getting stupider!

Has anybody asked him if he knows what they really are?

Sold quite a few sets going by the feedback. Must be interesting when one lets go.

Jesus, he has sold a lot of them. I am sure they "Work" but wrong in so many ways, I would hope a car would fail the MOT with those on, must be for those where the whole chainging a spring thing is too complex, cant imagine the racket they make, would they migrate round to meet each other and make the spring bow out sideways ?

Whilst not the most comfortable thing to happen, I can't see it being catastrophic if it does let go?!

Oh, and saying stupider makes you sound more stupid

wink

The only thing worse are the people who've bought them for his intended purpose!

Oh my!

Reading the feedback (looking for a "it popped off and I crashed" comment) I noticed this sort of thing as feedback:

-:¦:-•:*'""*:•.-:¦:-•*SUPER eBAYER*•-:¦:-•:*'''''*:•-:¦:- Thank you!!! -:¦:-•:

What sort of person bothers typing all that 'punctuation' and why?

They copy and paste it, in a similar way to what you've just done.

Isn't that one of the standard default bits of feedback you can leave?

Make my universal lowering kit idea seem ingenious! It involves placing a sheet of 25mm steel on your boot floor.

You must be Tarzan if you can lift that up. Or dwwn. Could be a twang as your nuts drop in protest! I admire the ingenuity but the downside risk? AAAARRRGGGHHH frown

These contraptions are not actually proper coil spring compressors ie not designed specifically for compressing springs prior to removal/replacement,although they would,I assume, ultimately serve the same purpose.
These things have been around since at least the 80`s.
I, in my youth, bought a set.
In fact they are probably still somewhere in the shed.
And they were made, and still are it seems, by a reputable firm.
