Can anyone recommend a good power wash?
Discussion
Hi
Im looking to buy a good compact pressure washer for the car. Can any one recommend a good one?
Iv heard the karcher, normad and halfords brand are the best ones.
Convenience and ease of use is the most important factor's for me obv with a good job done as i know im going to be too lazy using a big machien with 100's of attachments that im not going to use.. ( in other words looking for a plug and go)
Any suggestions please?

I've just bought one of these bad boys - its double the power of most of the karchers and even if it only lasts me a 2 or 3 years it's worth it for £100.

I bought one of these

Excellent bit of kit, and cheap as chips.
Be careful not to buy something too powerful, if you're using it to wash cars. It'll take the paint off.

I have a Kranzle, had it for about 5 years and expect it will still be going strong in 15 years!
I've also been impressed with my Stihl pressure washer which soldiers on despite much abuse.

What do you mean it only lasts 2 or 3 years? Id rather buy once and something thats going to last.
Kranzle fit that bill nicely, but then they do cost more as a result. I've also been impressed with my Stihl pressure washer which soldiers on despite much abuse.

ill second that- fantastic kit - reviews seem to agree on detailing world too. Good Thing is you can buy the proper snow foam lance attachment for it too if you want to go all out. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nilfisk-X-Tra-Pressure-Was...

Is that a compact one? Looks like a bit of a big beast to me!!
Need a small but mean one for me..
I don't know how long it will last but my thought process was rather than spending £250-£300, I could spend £100 and even if it did last 3 years it's not really an issue as my mate spent £400 on a karcher which lasted 4 years. Is that a compact one? Looks like a bit of a big beast to me!!

I'll bookmark this then post updates every year until it goes pop - if it does.
It is very powerful compared to some but you don't have to hold it 2 inches from the cars paintwork whereas if you bought a 1200w model it might not be any good for inner arches or oily bits??
I've blasted the granny out of my wife's Boxster hood that, due to the hot/rainy weather, had got a little mouldy and no matter what I did I couldn't shift it. 30 mins with 2400w it's now as black as the day it was when it was new!! Worth the £100 on its own!!
Hey guys
Thanks for all your reply's... just on 'detailing world' and came across the Kranzle and the oil changing bit which did put me off a little at the beginning - However after reading the the specs I conclude this is the daddy of them all!! and the cheapest i found was at £370.
iv also been looking and reading at the Nilfisk range - again plenty of happy customers on detailing world and amazon - its small, compact & strong, great for cars and dead cheap! So iv decided to go for this and save the rest of my money for my alloys!!!
Also my dads looking for a pressure washer and he wants to buy a Karcher but im going to convince him to buy the Kranzle - much better , easier and prettier id say! (I just need to tell him its a German make! )

Another vote here for the Nilfisk - got a c110 from Amazon then added a snow foam lance from Cleanyourcar.co.uk. Great fun!
I almost bought one but I thought it wouldn't be powerful enough? Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
