Advice Needed - New M135 or Nearly New S4

I'm in the market for a new car to replace my BMW 330d coupe. The two front runners at the moment are the new BMW M135i or a nearly new Audi S4. Both come in at about the same price to buy and both are quick. I need help deciding what to do.

If I go for the beemer, then I either order off-plan without any hope of a test drive, or wait for a test drive but then have no hope of getting my own until at least January next year. On the plus side, the risk of buying without a test drive is probably small, and I can't imagine for a second that I won't enjoy driving it. And I get exactly the spec I want. But alternatively I get new car depreciation, it's a hot hatch and I'm getting on a bit now, and I have to wait at least a couple of months to get one.

If I go for the S4 then I can get one as soon as I can find the colour/spec/price combination I want. On the plus side I think it looks a lot better than the beemer, and I can get one fairly soon, and it's a bit more middle-aged (to match the driver), and someone else has taken the first year hit on depreciation. On the downside, the running costs will be comfortably worse than the beemer.

Oh, and I'm the least decisive person in the world.

Help me.

Personally I would go for the S4.

You will find most people recommend the BMW (providing you purchase a large animal to keep in there for security purposes).

I've a B8 S4 (manual,saloon) - lovely piece of kit, am delighted with it. Stonkingly grunty, well built, decent economy, in short: highly recommended

S4 but only with the sports differential. They also respond well to remaps, 420bhp & 35mpg combined – seriously good bit of kit.

Has to be the s4 for me; alot more motor for the money.

You can get an RS6 for 38k and about 40k miles. With a remap you'll get 700hp and it's much more spacious. Perfect for the middle aged man BMW looks like shoe and will depreciate horribly, get an older car.
