Which do you think would be a better investment!?

Basically am looking to buy a car to use for a few years, then sell to top up the mortgage fund. So resale value is a factor in my car choice.

Have narrowed my options down to either an S1 Elise or VX220.

Have spotted a decent looking 51 plate VX with 65k miles, good history, HPI clear and in a nice colour combo for around the £6.5k mark

or been offered by a mate a 2000 S1 Elise with good history, S2 Suspesnion and polybushed, again nice condition, hpi clear and in yellow this time.

Now have driven both and I can't split them to be honest, each has their own strong/negative points.

Which would you have, and which will be more sought after/have stronger values in the future?
