Looking at getting a new shed, because I'm bored with the current car.

So, what can a maximum of £1000 get you spec wise? Looking for something comfortable and reasonably spacious (Astra sized upwards)

what criteria, just nice to be in? or fun to drive? or both?

i'm guessing an e36 328i touring will answer most possible criteria.

Bought this off a private customer for £700. 1999, 3.0i V6 SE, 96K miles, no faults.

Walked through its MOT with no faults

Best I've found so far is a rover 45.

Full heated leather, climate control, parking sensors, remote locking, elec windows & heated mirrors, alloys, sub 9sec 0-60.

£600

Notorious for head gasket problems - check very thoroughly before buying. That £600 bargain could be a £100 scrapper inside a week.

Well aware of the HG 'issues' and such issues wouldn't turn it into a scrapper either wink

Anyway, I was done 5k ago.

+1

Most of them are loaded full of gadgets, they look superb, and you have to be a complete plonker if you break the engine.
