How do you go about scrapping a car thats in pieces with the V5?

I know you need to get a certificate of destruction when you scrap a vehicle, but it doesn't really look like a vehicle any more so I'm not sure how to go about it

Cut out/remove Vin tags

Send to DVLA with covering letter and completed relevant section of the log book by registered post to say be used as spares for your own use and certify your own destruction

Alternatively if you still have old log book before they made it more difficult - fill that in and send it back saying you have destructed it yourself wink

I think there are usually 2-3 vin plates? 1 near where the dash meets the windscreen, one under the bonnet and maybe one in the door sill? Actually I think its different for different cars etc.

Just hope I don't miss any, cheers

Normally only two - one stamped chassis number and one alu vin tag
