de-pollution sensor fault k13 nissan micra

I'll be inheriting the family Micra soon, but it has just thrown its annual de-pollution sensor hissy fit. Every time this has happened the sensor has been replaced, and it's just a pain in the arse. Does anybody know of a permanent fix. I'm assuming any problems of this variety will be shared with a Clio of similar vintage.

You sure it's a K13? That's the latest shape so would still surely be under warranty?

If any Admins are floating around a title change to k12 would help

A quick spot of googling has suggested a fuel treatment like Redex might help, any thoughts?
