Junior Driving Experience damage waiver?
Discussion
Gentlemen/Ladies. I bought wijit junior a Lambo driving experience for his birthday, which he is doing in a couple of weeks. One thing which has struck me is in the terms and conditions;
"11. Damage Waiver
When purchasing a driving experience from us there is an option of a damage waiver. The damage waiver can be purchased up until and on the day of the driving experience and costs £20. By paying the fee of £20 Driveme.net agree that you will not be liable for the first £1000 excess as a result of damage to any of the cars."
The fully terms are here; http://www.driveme.co.uk/terms-and-conditions.html
I'm usually pretty good for these things, but the only mention of any such charge is in that section, at no other point does it suggest any liability a child/parents may have any financial responsibility.
Can anyone advise just a little whether this is actually enforceable, should junior decide to do a bit of damage to the car? Or is this possibly just another way to get an extra twenty quid?

I have done one of these experiences
At the time it seemed great however looking back they stuck you in 4th gear and you stayed in that the whole way round accept for 3rd for a very tight corner. Watched the video and looking back whilst I reached 100mph on the very long straight you generally go pretty slowly for the car you are in and with the instructor next to you can't see how your lad would crash to be honest I know my dad never bothered as the photos and videos was like an extra £40 as well...

Thanks for the replies guys. The twenty quid doesn't bother me so much as paying if it is them giving it a tug. If it's a genuine issue then that's fair enough, but in legal terms I can't see how they can enforce charging, or invoicing for damage in the circumstances.
I was going to get the full thing-pictures, video etc. not too sure now. But to be honest, with my son if he got to 100 that would be huge for him. (Until they do a veyron driving experinece......)

IMO it's an easy money maker for them.
They *seriously* pushed it when I did my experience but what are the actual odds you're going to spank it?
I didn't pay partly on principle and surprise surprise didn't crash and neither did anyone else that day.
Ok so you are taking a risk but you're with an instructor, everyone else is with an instructor, you're not allowed to overtake except on the straight and when the other car is letting you past.
You'd really have to try hard to spin it and even harder to actually crash enough to damage it.

Yeah well mine was in a Ferrari 550 we first had a go in a normal car (meant to be a mini) but they had ran out of standard ones so got to drive a mini cooper s and the instructor in that was ace hit 90mph in that so nearly as quick as the Ferrari as he let me rev it out after the first lap I even was allowed to overtake a slower 360.I was going to get the full thing-pictures, video etc. not too sure now. But I did it on a wet track near Leicester (cant remember) name but still got up to 105 ish on the speedo so in the 550 on a dry day may let you go a tad faster. This is also coupled with the fact as soon as I got in the Ferrari I was a bag of nerves and my lines through the corners went to pot which probably put of the instructor who was different to the one I had in the cooper s.
Even more thanks from here. From the itinery they've given us, he gets a briefing, then a drive around the track, then he does a few laps himself (he's doing a Lamborghini Gallardo drive), so no Mini involved.
I don't think I'll be bothering with this. I notice they will ask for a signature on an indemnity form, which if it wasn't worthless, would allow anything to happen to my son with no liability on their part if something did happen, so enforcing this would be pretty futile.
I'll take a tin of Humbrol paint with me. Just in case.
Cheers guys!

Google 6th gear experiences. I was on a plane next to a lady who either runs it or works there, saw her doing bookings on her iPad. They have a veyron experience.I was going to get the full thing-pictures, video etc. not too sure now. But to be honest, with my son if he got to 100 that would be huge for him.
