I'm after a "bargain barge" but it must have either folding rear seats or a ski hatch (for Salmon rods)

Does anyone what big BMW's Audi's Lexus etc.. have this facility?

cheers

Martin.

PS: I would get an estate, but they don't seem as good a bargain as the "Barges".

On older BM saloons ( likely to fall into Bargain Barge territory ) the folding rears used to be an option so you'd have to look at individual cars. It can be useful and I've used the facility on mine ( only a 3-saloon ) several times

Volvo's have a ski hatch I believe.

Mine all did..

Lexus LS400 doesn't, as the cavity between the rear seats and boot is filled with huge primitive computer equipment

It's an option on most A6 saloons, but not standard.

Folding rear seat on the '97 A4 saloon I once had, required the ignition key to unlock backrests.

Look at Saab estates, I bought one for £480 as a "dog car" and love it!

Loads of space, Full leather, front & rear heated seats, winter mode, sport mode, electric everything, memory seats, cd, cruise etc etc.

The rear seats can also be split 2/1 or folded completely flat.

I've successfully retrofitted a ski hatch to my 5 series Touring (2007 Lci). Cost about £360 in parts and did it myself. Works brilliantly and is very handy to have. X drive .......if only.

From experience, 5series with ski hatch option from new is like hens teeth.

Hope this helps

My e39 M5 has both folding split rear seats, and ski hatch.

Also my Saab 9000 Aero has folding split rear seats. And tremendous amounts of space in the trunk, even without folding the seats! Actually if you want a bargain barge and carry plenty of stuff, check one out, great car IMHO.

I believe these are options on both cars, so check before you buy...
