I'm going in a few weeks with some mates and it's our first time. We have a choice to stay at the Foxhole Guesthouse, Hotel Zur Burg, Tiergarten or Burgstube. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Always stay at the Tiergarten myself. Not the last word in luxury, far from it but its clean, local and friendly and just feels right for a trip to the ring.

I have also stayed at the new Hotel Dottinger is it? I'll be honest, politics aside it was comparible on price and a really nice stay. Much more luxurious but a lot less personal.

We stayed with Michaela @ Foxhole Guesthouse.. Would be happy to stay there again, Michaela is more than helpful to everyone there, even gave us a lift into Nurburg and picked us up afterwards.

Theres stuff to do at the Guesthouse, Sky TV/PS3/Bar etc and the rooms are fine too. Very well priced, and enough parking for atleast 5-6 cars.

Overall very happy with it.

Martin at Burgstube will show you the lines etc when you arrive as he used to be an instructor. Pretty useful I must say, for a first timer.

I always stay at Hotel Wilhelmshoehe in Auderath, www.hotel-wilhelmshoehe.de - about 20 mins from the Ring. Has garages and workshop for any tinkering after a day at the Ring biggrin

I'm finding it tough to decide. I think it's between foxhole and burgtube.

Its not the done thing, but we've always stayed at the Berghotel Hohe Acht. Old fashioned, little in the way of amenities, but family run, great food and pretty cheap. they use to have a rather camp maitre d' called Thomas who had a fantastic sense of humour.

The only one I've stayed at is the Altes Forsthaus. It's good value, very friendly and has plenty of good beer (plus it's within sight of the main entrance to the Nordschleife), but the rooms are very basic.

Stayed at 'Hotel An Der Nordschleife', really nice, friendly, depending on which room you stay in you might have a balcony to view the track across the bridge, can walk into town to get awesome pizza, 5 - 10 mins from the main entrance up the hill.

Owner, Eddy is a huge biker nut and has massive knowledge of the 'Ring.

Stayed there (well in the new apartments next door) when we went to the 24hr a few years ago. Great place.

Eddy had a lovelly new GT3RS at the time as well.
