Generic OBD software (or Nissan specific)
Discussion
Hi all
I have 2 x VAG TDi's that I run in the daily fleet and have always had VAG's ever since I started getting into self maintenance.
I have a USB OBD reader (like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-OBDII-KKL-409-1-USB-... which I then couple up to VAG-com on my laptop to read fault codes. Fast forward to today and the MiL's 53 plate 1.5 Almera has thrown the check engine light up on the dash.
So, the question, do I need to try and get a hold of Nissan's specific software to work with my cable, or is there some generic OBD II stuff out there I can install and run to do a simple scan/ clear of fault codes?
Thanks in advance for the help

I've used this recently in a 306 diesel, 2008 Laguna petrol, 2002 MR2, 2003 WRX, and a few other things, and it's done exactly what it says on the tin.
Does this use a USB / OBDII cable interface ?I've used this recently in a 306 diesel, 2008 Laguna petrol, 2002 MR2, 2003 WRX, and a few other things, and it's done exactly what it says on the tin.
