Can anyone recommend me a local seat repair co. (in somerset/dorset) or how to do it myself?

If you want to have a go yourself you could try the Gliptone stuff. My brother used it on a worn Z4 bolster and it came up looking like new.

ive repaired a few myself , have a look on furnitureclinic.co.uk they have a section of before and after car repairs

cheers, its a little more than tiredness - a massive rip along the seam.
