Hi I have stupidly and idiotically hit the kerb.. Ouch and i have damaged two of my alloys.

The alloys are black and now you can see bits of silver around..

I am looking to touch all 4 up and i am trying to decide whether i should go for a quick respray ( sanding and touch up) or the powder coating which I am unsure of.

They are not badly damaged, its just the rims that are making them look ugly.

Any advice?

Powder coating is a far better option. Its more durable than a paint finish. Not sure about 2 tone powder coating normally Ive only had it done 1 colour. Maybe painting is the only option with that.

Can I suggest you go and have a look at the `AEROMAX` site. I have seen quite a lot of there work and it is outstanding. No I have nothing to do with the company, just like there work and attitude.

If you're just looking to touch them up - simply hand brush some paint on.

If you're looking to refurb I've always powdercoated mine but I suspect decent paint is as durable.

I've had my alloys powder coated and I think that it's a softer material than stoved on paint, for instance when I removed the wheels the wheel brace marked the silver powdercoat around the bolt holes and has spoiled the otherwise excellent finish. If I was in your shoes I'd have a go at a careful touch-up repair and if that's unsatisfactory get them re-painted.

My PC'd alloy gave way - and at 90mph! Very nasty. I would not drive on another pc'd wheel. The heating process is not good for them

Interesting about that.

Im looking to get all of mine done, so i guess a proper painted, baked on finish is better?

agree on the powder coating and definately would advise against it !!

snapped two of my alloys after having them freshly powder coated ,and was later told the baking process effects the wheels causing them to go soft and brittle ,although depends obviously on the alloys themselves
