Looking for advice on Goodwood revival

Hi

A bunch of us are thinking of going to the Goodwood Revival this year and I'm after hints/tips/advice/whatever.

We're not sure whether to just do the Saturday or to camp for the whole weekend. We'll be taking our two boys (5 and 4) along with the children of a couple of other parents. Sound OK?

So, yeah, anyone have any advice for Revival newbies?

I haven't been but I'm advised it's really worth dressing up

D'oh. Thanks. I did search for Goodwood Revival but, needless to say, nothing really relevant came up!

I've never been but my parents have and have said it's one of the best weekends they used to travel down on the Wednesday or Thurday and camp. They dressed up in period costumes whcih only added to the enjoyment. If you can do it camping may be the only option now as I would imagine the hotels etc may be full)

It’s a superb weekend! Not only do you have the public car park outside which will be full of beauties old and new but the machines inside and they’re engine notes are enough to wake the dead!

Defo worth dressing up and the spirit is truly wonderful!

Only did the Sunday last year but doing both days this year. Lookout for a chap with a levi’s Big ‘E’ jacket on with all the classic brit bike makes embroidered on the back!

Yeah, you need to dress up. I found that there was far too much to see in a day, especially if you want to watch any of the races.
Hope the weather is better than it was last year, I got bloody soaked!

Go, Saturday or Sunday is fine.

Dress up.

It's the best motoring event of the year, bar none.

What everyone else has said plus - if you have to take little kids then I'd suggest just one day. I'm not anti kids, got 4! So actally just speaking from experience, they will get bored after an hour or two...
