SL55 give me some reasons to buy! Owners please ...

Doing a bit of research and it all seems to be "big bill hell" ... is it that bad? The ABC stuff that seems to be a recurring issue, is that the same for the SL600? Is that a more reliable option?
Wouldn't mind some opinions for recent owners. I'm looking at a 2004 model later in the week.

Mine had a ton of faults - ABC pump failed, leaking fluid everywhere. One of the fancy gas dampers packed up (£1000) and suffered badly worn front wishbones which caused it to fail it's first MOT at 25k miles. Some sensor on the engine failed meaning it wouldn't start. Previous problems with the retractable roof meaning it wouldn't stay closed and wouldn't lock the boot. Sat nav is rubbish, phone is hardwired to a specific very old handset if originally specified (Nokia 6310 I think in mine)
All thankfully fixed under MB extended warranty although the MOT failure cover nearly didn't pay out as it was so much to rectify.
Mine was a lemon, no doubt but it doesn't handle too well even with all the electronics, just too heavy and a bit "wobbly" with the roof down. Plus side, goes like stink and has one of the best engine / exhaust noises out there IMO. Roof is also amazing when it works properly.
100k car with running costs to match if it goes wrong though
