1994 Toyota Celica WRC 4WD Carlos Sainz - Anybody owned one
Discussion
Afternoon folks,
I'm after a bit of info if anyone has any that would be great, I've been offered a 1994 Toyota Celica 4WD 2ltr Turbo Carlos Sainz (UK Model) in Black for £3500 with 66k miles on her.
She has been sat in the corner of a garage/warehouse with 23 other cars including old porsches, jags etc gathering dust, It will probably need a new battery as it hasn't been touched for a year.
The bodywork is excellent, no dents, scrathes, it just needs a clean, polish, the engine also is sound with no leaks etc.
The guy who own these cars and the warehouse is a contractor who comes in every now and then and heard i was looking for a fun car (as i recently sold my Focus RS to buy a house), to fill my time.
As i have no knowledge on celica's or this Ltd edition model etc is it a good buy?, is it a fun car? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance

I think RobM77 had one of these. A bit of a rally icon, but somehow somewhat forgotten against the Impreza's and Evo's.
Probably slightly more style than go and I think not as sharply setup as an Impreza Turbo 2000 is.
That said, not a slow or a bad car. I think £3500 is all it's money though and then some. Sadly old Toyota's like these just don't seem that sort after . If you want to buy to keep then it's probably not a bad deal, if it's buy to flog in 12 months time suspect to take a good percentage hit on the money you get back.

L Reg i believe, im gonna go to his warehouse / barn full of cars and will take a few pics probably not this weekend but next , i know theres only so many around and apparently hard to find a UK model / non import. Its completely standard, no modifications etc. only problem i can see is if the OH would agree as it would be kept in the garage when not being used etc
if i dont get it due to lack of funds / no space to store etc ill be sure to pass the details on here if anyone else is interested as mentioned before

Stunning cars, though my experience of them was a little disappointing. Not as sharp to drive as the Imprezas and Evos that followed and not hugely quick in standard guise, for something that is a rally car. The stage tuned ones were much faster, but there is a certain merit in a having an original item!
