Time For Tea? Wilton House teaser

Shameless supercar-based indulgence to accompany your afternoon brew ... go on, grab a Custard Cream too!

That strange blue colour in the sky and odd sensation of warmth that's been occurring of late gives us hope that the rest of the season formerly known as 'summer' might finally play ball for the remaining meets and events coming up.

Not least Wilton House, the annual supercar/stately home extravaganza that this year takes place on August 5 and will feature a special PistonHeads parking area. Get your tickets here if you fancy coming along and kicking some very expensive tyres!

To get us all in the supercar mood the organisers have put together this rather tasty little video of a Bugatti Veyron and McLaren MP4-12C going for a discreet (OK, not that discreet...) little blast. As we say, pure indulgence but who's to complain. Enjoy...

I say I'll go every year but never do. Great event but I just don't think it's worth the 8 hour round trip. frown

I'll be there this year for the 3rd time, it really is a fantastic event, and all for a good cause.

I hear Jonathan Ross has a fondness for driving gloves.
...I mean, I can understand it in a really old car, the sort that has aeroscreens and cycle wings, but in a Bugatti. Nah.

That'll be Lord Pembroke, then.

To be fair, he doesn't drive like a ponce. This was on the way up to almost 230mph on the Autobahn.

I think we were mocking the period look, open back, leather driving gloves seen near the start of the vid - 37 secs, or thereabouts.

I wear driving gloves, only when it's cold though. It's nice to have leather gloves tack nicely onto a leather steering wheel when I go for a drive, you're missing out if you haven't tried it.

In reality, not wearing driving gloves is not going to stop you looking like a ponce.

Tunatic and Shazam have no ideas so I'd Tweet them and ask (or ask on YT)

232mph if I remember correctly, if only that Golf hadn't pulled out...

Video looks great and it's all for a fantastic cause - a must go for any car lover (gloves optional).

I'm so very much looking forward to this again! I'll be the guy on the on the big TV screen randomly during the day and then for the rev off.

It's always a great day and, dare I say it, that the weather's broken now I hope it will be as glorious next Sunday as it's been this week biggrin

The sheer number and selection of cars is superb yes

Brilliant vid.

And really, if you cant fathom that walking into the garage at Wilton House and climbing into a Veyron is an occasion that is enhanced by a pair of brown leather driving gloves, Im not sure this is the event for you and I'm quite sure I wouldnt miss you if you couldnt make it.
