Drving test - fault on car ok?

Hi

GirlfrieNd is taking her drivng test next tuesday.

She is taking he test in my car which is fully motd etc.

Howether, a failty bulb warning light comes on for he headlights after a few miles driving.

The lights are fine.
It is just a faulty sensor.

Is this going to cause a problem on the driving test?
Is this grounds for not letting her take the test?

Test is likely to be abandonded if a warning light comes on during it

Disable the sensor for the test and all will be ok

Bit stupid really, it's not like the car will break down or explode. Some of these rules are a little presh...

I can understand for some things, but headlight warning lamp? Come on...

My wife took her driving test in her own car and she was warned in advance to get rid of a slight squeek from the brakes as the examiner could abandon the test. It's a common issue on the rear drums of a Mk1 Focus and not a safety issue, but the weekend before the test I had them all stripped down and copper slipped, except the braking surfaces of course...

Also depends on the examiner.

My 2nd test was nearly cancelled because the examiner said the tyres were just on the legal limit, even though my instructor had another test before mine at the same test centre and they were fine then.

When my Dad took his test the indicator bulb inside didn't work so the instructor had to take his word for it. )He passed first time, I believe on his 17th birthday. (he'd been driving on private land (my grand dad looked after a caravan park with a lot of gated roads) for years, even had an ex-police van for some time which I think ended up losing all gears except reverse, so he drove everywhere in reverse for a few months!)

Of course this would've been in 1976.

Amber (not red) ABS warning light for LGV trailer comes on during test so test abandoned !!

That was a sensor glitch and the examiner knew it

Future tests in that vehicle had the sensor disabled (on the QT) = happy examiner
