Has anyone sold the car with drivetrain option, like as in FWD, RWD, 4wd on one car? Just curious.

I'm not aware of any that were offered as all three, but all combinations of two have been done.

The 1-series might do it if they ever do go FWD with the lower powered versions.

Lots of RWD or 4WD and lots of FWD or 4WD, but none I can think of with FWD, RWD and 4WD in one car without taking drivesahsts out.

ETA I've won! Citroen 2CV! They did a twin engined 4WD one that could be driven from either end or both.

On my fatehrs series III Landie you could do 4wd or rear through the simple process of getting out of the car, doing something arcane to the wheels, then pulling a lever. - Easy, quick and convienient.

Unlike the Isuzu Trooper where the same could be achieved with a switch, which is dull and has no sense of occasion. What were they thinking?

Anything other than the 2CV that could be any of all three options in just one car?

MG ZT was available with FWD and RWD, not with a common engine though.

They also had a few 4wd development cars knocking around.

I can't think of one that offers FWD as well as RWD and 4WD. I do remember when I worked for a car specs research company that the Ford F-150 had a ludicrous amount of options, RWD, 4WD and many trasmission and engine and cab combinations. I think it had the highest number of options by quite a margin.

That's cheating IMO, and you could do the same with a Landrover by locking the centre diff and removing the front prop shaft for RWD, or rear one for FWD.

Well there have been other cars with the same drive-train layout - Mercedes made a few A-classes with an engine at each end. No idea whether you could start them independently, though.

There was at least one RWD Mondeo prototype kicking around a few years ago alongside road-going FWD and 4WD versions.

Also, do racecars count? There are bound to be a few FWD/4WD cars that have been converted to RWD for circuit racing.

Rover 75 came in FWD (up to V6) and RWD (V8) versions.

Triumph 1500 (FWD) was replaced by the Dolomite (RWD) but essenitally the same car with a different front end and drivetrain.

Loads of cars with AWD also have FWD/RWD versions, but not both.

Yup.

A3/ TT - FWS or Quattro depending on power
A4/A6 - low power versions are FWD

The Alfa 159 and Brera could be had with either FWD or 4WD, but that may have just been for the V6 engines.

Really? Isn't the A-class the mini mpv shaped effort?

The 80s Toyota Corolla was available in FWD (Hatchback) and RWD (Coupe).
