My dad has an 08 330d and the DPF is partially blocked so instead of replacing the DPF and having the same problem again in a couple of years he's going to get it removed and get a remap.
I have been quoted £450 for everything;
DPF to be cut open and remove the internals then weld back up.
DPF software removed
Remap

Thats with this company, http://www.remappingsheffield.co.uk/
What sort of figures do people think he would be looking at? 270ish?

Thanks

Seems like a decent price, but I'd try and ask them if they could put your dad in touch with one of their past customers who could tell you what they thought of the results. Prices I've seen are generally around 550-600.

Thanks mate, I will ask them and try do a little research. Another company has just got in touch and quoted £500 all in and it takes the bhp to 295 and torque to 550!

All that jazz

Remapping can take them to all sorts of silly power outputs but the higher you go the higher the chance of expensive bits of your engine and tranny going pop. A good remap company that offers warranties and such would advise against going above a certain figure and would also probably refuse to remap it any higher too.

I think that 295 is a bit too much from 231. Something more like 270 would be safer and what he would probably go for.
