Hi just been on my mind for a while now
i have on my licence motorcycle / car / hgv among others
now if i was to get a speeding ticket. Why couldn't i say ok what licence wouldyou like to put the points on ??bike/car/hgv
now i took and paid for and passed 3 seperate tests so how come i don't have 3 different licences ???
and the second one is why do you get done twice for 1 offence ?? ie/fine & points and why do the points stay on your licence for 4 years from date of conviction
so in fact you are getting a 4 year sentance on your insurance
im just having a rant
thanks for looking

1)You have only taken one test but allowed to drive other classes without taking that precise test, therefore you have 'committed offence' that could have been in any of allowed group.
2)You take a standard of test that qualify's presumption that you are capable therefore being competent with a 'lesser' standard of vehicle. (Although bikers quite rightly would disagree with that statement)although I can't imagine who starts at the bottom & works up so who would actually take 3 tests.
3)To deter the wealthy from continually committing offences just because they can afford to, and many offences increase danger to other road users which insurance companies would still have to pay out for, therefore offender is exposing insurance co. to higher liability chances than a 'safer driver' would.
All points go onto the basic licence no matter in what category they were done in
Categories in C & D are ALSO under the remit of the Transport Commisioner (TC) who can suspend or revoke those if they deem fit to do so - many drivers of those feel as if they have been done twice if the TC takes action but those drivers do have a greater responsibility so those who do complain about that leave themselves open to others saying that they are not taking those extra responsibilities seriously
The way to think of it is this - your conduct on the road is not up to the required standard so points are issued - looking at it that way means it covers all categories
Speeding on a M/C means that the standard is below what is required so why should that only be for M/C and not for all the other categories - its the same person on the road !!
