Audi A4 2.0 TDi S-Line.

It's the big thing in corporate automotion (is that even a proper word?).

You should be able to get a decent Skoda Superb for that if the company will allow it. If not, I'd go with a Volvo S60 they're excellent all round cars.

If the age barrier can be overlooked - GS300/450h fits the bill.
Can be very frugal with the correct use of right foot and cruise control...... http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Have a look at a Volvo V50 D5. Plenty of poke and toys, very comfortable mile muncher and mine has returned 46mpg over 9000 miles of mixed driving.

I think 9k might cause you a problem in all those cars you mention, What about something like a civic diesel?

Honda Accord diesel. I've had one for 7 years now, it's been the best car that I've ever had. 1½ sets of tyres, full set of brake pads, plus normal servicing (that I do myself) and I travel over 50 miles every day, plus social etc.

I'd go Saab. Some bargains to be had and I think the 9-3 is a lovely looking car. Every company car is BMW/Audi/Merc so be different...
