Worst power to weight ratio?

Just thinking about big cars with small engines, not sure why, but then it got on to power to weight
ratio becuase that is essientially what makes a slow car or a fast car. So does anyone know of the lowest power to weight ratio cars, or alternativly, any massive cars with tiny engines?

Other than cars from over 40 years ago, the fairly recent Nissan Serena 2.3 diesel might be. I can't find the power/weight details but taking 27.8seconds to get to 60mph suggests not enough power for the weight it's trying to move.

My S3 land rover towing a 3.5t trailer?

It's probably only got about 60bhp so that's around 11bhp/tonne.

Thats just awful, 2.3 isnt even a low amount yet they cant make it accelerate faster than that. It's not like its even a particularly heavy car either

I seem to remember these been very very very slow to 60 (if they did 60 at all)

An early Land Rover 2.5nad One Ten. Something like 67hp and around 1930kg. That's only 34.7bhp/tonne.

At work we used to have an armoured Land Rover which had the 2.5 NA diesel. 60 something bhp and around 3 tonnes equals 20ish bhp/tonne. Not great.

Since been replaced by a modern turbodiesel which is much better.

I think my old Land Rover 109 V8 Station Wagon deserves a mention here. 1700 kg, 93 bhp, 3.5 litres. 54.7 bhp/tonne, 26.5 bhp/litre. And 12 mpg. Made a lovely woofly noise though.

Aye, 0-60 in never, just getting rolling means low ratio 2nd and a quick double de-clutch up into high range. At least the steering feels power assisted when you got a heavy trailer on. . . . . .
