Cars that make you feel invincible!
Discussion
I've had a couple of near misses this year and am more aware of my own mortality than I used to be, so I know that this is purely pyschological. However, some cars still offer a level of performance and handling that can give you a feeling of invinvibility. Which cars (if any) have done this for you? Here are mine:
2004 Impreza WRX (current car)
VW Corrado VR6
Peugeot 205 GTi (ironic, as this was my first quickish car and I was fortunate enough to write it off in a low-speed accident, as I did used to drive it too fast and would probably have killed myself if I had kept it longer - would love another one now though, now that I am more sensible!)
mkV Golf GTI (had one for the weekend when I worked for VW)
What cars that you have owned or driven have given you a feeling of invincibility?

The first time I drove a Range Rover in the snow, right up until I understeered over a roundabout and down an embankment into a pedestrian underpass. Luckily there were no people or cars in the way, although I did have to take a run at the stairs to get out. The hire company did query the cracked foglight when it went back.

Volvo S60 fast, comfortable, safe. Could actually fall asleep at double the speed limit!2004 Impreza WRX (current car)

Probably why I have a couple of speeding tickets pending....

Invincible? In a 205 GTi? You sir, have a very limited imagination. Good car to drive, but not to have a big accident in, I would suggest.
My XC90 gives a bit of an invincibility feeling, but I do try to rein it in.
I think that there is a difference between FEELING invinvible and BEING invincible. I FELT invincible in my 205 GTi because it (forgive the cliche) cornered on rails. You probably are invincible in your XC90 but if you tried to keep up with me im my 205 on a twisty, bumpy road would probably understeer into a tree (admittedly the tree would probably come off worse). I would feel invincible until I hit the aforementioned tree and then I would be dead!My XC90 gives a bit of an invincibility feeling, but I do try to rein it in.
A very odd choice here but my Corsa B that I had in my early 20's. It had big wheels, good tyres, uprated brakes, uprated suspension, bushes and a little go-kart style steering wheel. All powered along by a measley 1.2 litre 8 valve engine which was almost dangerously slow! I knew that whatever speed I was doing the brakes, suspension and tyres would be more than capable of sorting things out. I used to challenge myself to drive down A-roads as fast as possible without braking and a feeling of invincibility was certainly experienced.
