New car, please don't laugh

So, I have inherited the mighty family steed, and thus it shall be In my care for the foreseeable future.
I have spent much elbow-grease and plenty t-cut to get the glorious stallion into it's current state, and felt that I should share this magnificent beast with the masses. If only to make your car feel that little bit more special.

Having had a K10 and a K11 Micra in the family (I cut my teeth on cars on the K10 I bought) they're great tough little cars. Rest assured that pretty much however you treat the car, it'll still run fine. I remember the courtesy K12 I borrowed being extremely rev-happy and actually being a decent enough car to drive. Have fun!

There are worse cars. Upside is it will be reliable and fairly resilient to being thrashed, and ok to repair...

Progressive driving is still possible.

As is drifting in the snow. Which is dangerous and should never, ever, ever be considered. You shouldn't even have read that.

Nissan Micras are great little cars, be proud of it.

I'm thinking of telling you how easy you have it these days, my first car was older than I was at the time !

Do the fluid checks, keep it serviced by a nice independant you trust, and enjoy, your first car is always the best car you will ever own.

Exactly... Speed conservation, right lines through the twisty stuff, smooth driving, clutchless changes, left foot braking, all possible to practice with a car at a safe speed... Ideal car for fun...

They were practically the reason I agreed to it My first 2 cars were liable to create extra ventilation if you so much as dropped a loaf of bread in the boot or passenger-side foot-well, both of them were Corsa's though.

Being free also helped it's case massively

My first couple of cars were 2 years younger than me, so I suppose I was lucky in that respect, both bought, paid for and serviced by me Pride, for this, not so much, grateful is the more apt word. It shall tide me over for the next year or so, or until I buy fix,and refurbish my upcoming project How are these to maintain, i was thinking of keeping garage trips to a minimum and doing the work myself?

Ring round. Nissan dealers are pretty good price wise, you might be surprised. They often price match as well.

If the difference is only £30 or so, I'd try to keep it with a history. A a young driver it will sell more quickly (unmodified) and with a decent history.

Don't knock it - a great little car, especially a free one - and better than the steed I inherited from my late Father when he died - a 1999 Mk.4 Fiesta, with the hideous 1.3 OHV cast iron boat anchor engine.

Despite this, I fitted an LPG conversion to it, and did a further 140,000 trouble-free, cheap miles in it commuting back and forth from Norfolk to London!

I would have killed for the sleek refinement of a Micra!!
