We're thinking about having our 2008 Leon FR Tdi (170ps engine) remapped to release a little more low down torque and try to improve the fuel economy, at present if you happen to be in the wrong gear at a roundabout for example the sheer lack of any power is horrendous until the turbo kicks in and average consumption is around 42mpg.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a remap around the Beds, Herts, Cambs area? We don't want a superchip style piece of rubbish - it must be something that will benefit the car whilst not making it either worse or liable to blow up a couple of thousand miles down the line so a decent map/tune.

A friend of mine has used Celtic Tuning for a mkiv golf tdi and two 8th gen civic i-ctdi, all have been 100% reliable and seen circa 50bhp gains. They also offer an economy map on some vehicles and have a mobile service that will come to you.

No remap will sort the off-boost pre-1500rpm gutlessness. That's just the PD TDI engine's characteristic.
