What the fk is going on? What exactly do you hope to achieve by stickering up your car so that it looks a bit like a Police car from distance? If your intention is to slow the traffic down to below 70 speedo mph on the m/way whilst people crawl past you in a huge great pissing chain of cars then you have fking succeeded. Go fk yourself mad

Eh?

Many 'motorway maintenance' vehicles have to battenburg livery - usually yellow and red. Private ambulances can have markings too.

ONLY emergency vehicles can display blue (usually with yellow). The highway agency traffic officers are often mistaken for plod.

70 mph is actually the limit.....

Your rant is as retarded as you old bean....

Whilst we're at it, why do people hang luminous vests on the drivers seat? No police, builders, warehouse personnel or bin men I know do that.

They are nowhere near as idiotic as the utter fktards whose observation is so poor that they actually mistake them for Police cars, then proceed to either slam on their brakes or hold everyone up whilst they pass at 69mph.....

afaik, having a hi-viz vest in the car is compulsory in france in case of emergency - and many have them on hung over one of the front seats so the gendarmerie can see it without pulling them over.

Why they have them in this country? to look cool, no doubt. :s

Shame on you, and your family. Do you have any idea how many people you've held up?

How dare people have cars made to be bright/reflective so they don't get shunted when working at the roadside. Bloody cheek of it.

It stops to make you think for a few seconds and makes you aware of the vehicle especially at night.

Vehicles that are stickered up like that are because they work/stop in potentially dangerous work environments such as a road, as you have encountered. They don't do it to pretend to be coppers, they do it to make morons (and there are plenty of those around believe me) aware they are there.

Would you like to stop on a single carriage way at night with a small or no hard shoulder to help someone and then someone smash into the back of your car because they didn't see you? No? Thought not!

Perhaps next time stop to try and think why something is the way it is before posting a rant.

Yeah right!
The same company are running vans that " look like " police from the rear, and a little bit in the rear view mirror.
For safety reasons you think?

Your driving manner/style/speed should stay the same regardless of whether there's a copper around. It's idiots like you that make plod use more & more unmarked cars.

It's aimed at you - seeing as you've created a topic about cars slowing down to a "crawl". Why would you create this topic if your driving style was unchanged on the approach to what you THINK may be a police car?

I thought that too, until I was stopped at traffic lights next to an unmarked BMW 5 Series. Both front seat occupants were in uniform... and a hi vis vest was on the dash. That surprised me.

Except they don't really. Quite easy to tell the difference from far back which make it all the more annoying when all traffic slows to 65mph around them!
