Myself and my three lads just had a go in a NASCAR at Las Vegas motor speedway, only three laps but a real buzz, with more money and better arrangement you can drive one as well, well worth the drive out, cost us two hundred dollars for all four, got a cheaper rate for the kids. These are pretty much proper Nascars, not quite the full power but at six hundred bhp they do the job, the sounds, heat and smells are pretty vivid, next time will arrange it better and drive one.
Just up the road is the Shelby American facility, had a brilliant free tour, tagged along with a group of American servicemen, saw the whole production facility, the museum and the Dyno which had a Chevy Nova drag car being tested, made eight hundred odd bhp and a lot of noise, even behind a screen we had to put fingers in ears, normally I like to just listen but it was epically loud to the point of pain, fantastic. We got a good look round the Shellby 1000 and all the other customer cars waiting for collection.
there was some kind of supercar track thing going on as well, sand buggies, outlaws etc but the wife had had enough by then.
