If so can you give me a rough price on what this car should be on the forecourt for..

July 2006 is220d se
Slate grey
Black leather
sunroof
full multimedia pack
1 owner
Full history, just serviced and mot'd etc..
55k
VGC all over.

I'm looking at buying from a lexus dealer as an approved used(5+ car). Basically whats the normal forecourt price for the above car with a years main dealer warranty? Or What is a good price?

Thanks in advance.

Just sold a very similar car to this for £7995, currently have an 08 plate with 53k on for £9995 which is exactly the same spec. We are an indy dealer so you could prob add a grand on to buy from Lexus

Not a chance. Once again your odd motor trade calculations are way off the mark. A main dealer will want £1000-1500 minimum across a £10k car, unless they really want out of it (coming up 90 days etc).

So you can't offer the same level of warranty? so at £8300 from a main dealer its a very good deal?

The one you've got, is that the light blue one?

Enlighten me then on where the calcs are wrong?

There is lots of information on the likes of Sword Apak and other captive sites on how the used stock funding model works.

It's is age old problem of what the dealer wants, but when push comes to shove, what finance will accept.

There is nothing wrong with a customer building a rapport with sales ( so not to to tuck you up as much as possible, just for sport wink

Then putting in a well pitched offer at the correct time, leave a deposit and walk away and let give time to allow the dealer to return with their answer.

You're making the incorrect assumption that a) all dealers use stocking finance, that b) those dealers who use stocking finance stick everything on it and that c) all dealers who use stocking finance work on the same system.

As I said, my many years experience of working in the motor trade in sales means that I know a Lexus dealer will not want a few hundred quid across a used IS. Perhaps you could tell me what real world knowledge you're working from (note, knowledge, not something you've found on google).

Sweet baby Jesus the bullst on here about the motor trade never ceases to amaze me.

The car is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, Glass's and CAP are a guide, nothing more.

I wouldn't touch a diesel IS220 with a stolen cock on the end of a very long pole as I've been stung with a couple in the past.

At a guess a Lexus dealer would offer £7,000 part ex and stick it up for £11,000 so about £4,000 mark up.
