Exactly! It's wonderful that such an amazing car is owned by someone who'll drive it and appreciate it

Why doesn't his classic car collection interfere with his day job so much he gets the sack? The man is a colossal waste of space. He has my respect for his enthusiasm for cars however.

His so called 'day job' is just the tip of the iceberg work wise for the ginger one and what most morons make their judgement on.

Jealousy really doesn't become anyone.

Have to admit though I'm a little bit jealous of him myself:-

Successful at chosen career

Got to shag Billy Piper and various other fit birds

Made untold riches with razor sharp business acumen/luck whichever you prefer

Made massive charitable donations

Has fine taste in cars and the will to indulge it.

Doesn't really seem like a 'waste of space' to me.

That and the 288 are, for me, the two beat looking cars ever made.

Kind of the first and last of a particular era of supercars in my view.

He can junk all the other crap now as they are only going to look bad next to these two. smile

I've met the chap on a couple of occasions and he has always come over as being an extremely nice man and clearly very smart. It's certainly nice to also see someone who has a passion for cars being so open with his.

Jealousy, that jumble of secret worship and ostensible aversion.

Wish I had some of his brain waves to make money, and have nice desirable cars.

i think that meets my description of a hero

Billy Piper and one of the best looking ferrari's of all time, yep Hero!

and he is far more grounded since his binge drinking and inevitable implosion days

Yup.

His genius was in understanding that if you became a 'face' on TV and could obtain a show slot that the real money came from putting in the massive hours to also own that show rather than just being the hired talent to do the dancing about.

He made himself into one of the early Indy production companies and did well enough as a result to buy a radio station. And after a spectacular meltdown/burnout has managed to return and play a smart game again.

Whether you like his shows or not I can't see any reason to dislike him at all.

I think Evans is great. Sure, there was a big ego back in the Radio 1 days but he's dialled that back and comes across as a totally agreeable bloke now. I'd let him buy me a pint.

However, painting this car white is a nono

Just before we get further jealous vitriol, can I point out that this is about the car, not about the man himself.

This thread is in General Gassing not The Lounge!

There is a link though, especially as the car is ginger. Although ironically, the man is mysteriously now blond. smile
