For my sins I walk past the Ritz in London on my way to/from work most days. Usually there's a Rolls Royce Phantom parked up there (assume it's the Ritz's based on the number plate).

Last week however I saw one of these instead:

In this very colour. Now I'd seen pics before and thought "yuck!" But how wrong was I, in the flesh it looks flippin gorgeous. cloud9 what amazed me was how tiny and compact it looked. I know it's still a big car but it must play some kind of optical illusion, because it really looks fantastically proportioned, sleek and a lot smaller than it really is. Very very elegant.

Saw it 3 or 4 times in total and once was side by side with one of these:

And I'm sorry to say, but the Bentley easily out shone the Rolls by quite some margin. If I win the Euro Lotto I know who's dealership door I'll be knocking on.

Agreed. Whoever styles the front end for Rolls these days should have gone to Specsavers.

I work a stone's throw from the Ritz and I've seen a couple of Mulsannes, they do look much better in the metal. There's something very wrong with the fronts of Rolls Royces, it's like they've put on the headlights from another car as an afterthought.

I have also seen one or two, and I agree with 300bhp/tonne. It looks very elegant and very smart compared to the Rolls Royce!

It was quite funny. I saw my first one at a KFC Drive-Thru in Chesterfield, it had to reverse and do multiple moves to get around the corners. laugh

looks cock-eyed!

similar to the Bentley Conti GT, looks average in pics and in the flesh is even more grotesque

But would 300 ever do anything as Euro as the lotto?

They're actually from an Austin Allegro.

I saw one of these near me a while ago, all I can say is tiny and compact looking didn't cross my mind, it was absolutely massive.

I do like them though.

Edited to sort out quoting problem.

Not seen one in the metal, but even in pictures the only real problem with the looks is the odd extra lights outside the main units.

I'd have the Bentley too. Dark blue with light grey leather please.

I wouldn't even try and get one through a drive through - what a numpty, fair play for trying though.

Has nobody seen one before!?
Personally, I tend to find they look ok in photos, but slightly boring in person. Well, not boring, but not as handsome as the old Arnage, and somehow with less presence, despite being more obvious.

I prefer the looks of the Mulsanne but the interior of the Ghost, not that it matters!

I haven't looked at the rest of the thread. I'm still stunned that you are actually able to squeeze in a job around your PH posting....

On a serious note, I agree with you. I prefer the Bentley.

I go to Burlington House from time to time, so will look out for the Rolls Royce next time I'm there.
